What is a spam score?
The share of known spam signals a website shows. Our SEO Return Spam Score weighs 18 signals and reports 0% (clean) to 100%. Under 10% is low risk, 11-30% is medium and over 30% is high.
Is this the same as Moz Spam Score?
No. Moz uses its private link index. Our score uses public, live checks and explains every signal, so you can see exactly why a site scores the way it does.
Should I avoid backlinks from high spam score sites?
Generally yes. Links from spammy sites rarely help and can lead to manual actions if they look like link schemes. Focus on relevant, trustworthy sites.
My site has a high spam score. Is it penalised?
Not necessarily. The score shows risk factors, not a Google penalty. Check Search Console for manual actions, then fix the flagged signals.
Why do SPF and DMARC matter?
They stop criminals sending email that pretends to come from your domain. Missing records are common on spam sites and hurt your email deliverability.
