Still have a question?
Email us and a real person replies within one business day.
How do I find out how old a domain is?
Enter it above. We read the creation date from the official registry using RDAP, the modern replacement for WHOIS, and fall back to WHOIS when needed.
Does domain age affect SEO?
Not directly. Google has said domain age itself is not a ranking factor. Older sites often rank well because they have built links, content and trust over time, not because of the date.
Why is the first archive date older than the registration date?
The domain was probably registered before by someone else, then dropped and re-registered. Check old snapshots for spam before relying on its history.
Why can't I see the owner's name?
Most registrars hide personal contact details for privacy (GDPR). Registry dates, registrar and status are still public.
What does clientTransferProhibited mean?
It is a transfer lock that stops the domain being moved to another registrar without the owner’s approval. It is a good security setting to keep on.
